Holiday Reading

Since I am on winter break from school, I have been getting a few things done that I haven't had time for like my laundry and cleaning the house.  I also need to make new files for the new year, refold and tidy up my sweater drawers, organize my shoes and other stuff so I will be organized when I go back to school.  I have also found time to read something other than a text book. Before Christmas I wanted to read one of those inspiring, warm, miracle type of books that they come out with during the season, so I ordered one from my book club and just the other day sat down to read it.  It's called "Promise Me" by Richard Paul Evans.  He has written a ton of books but this is the only one I have read.  I've been thinking about it since I finished it yesterday. I am a logical person so it didn't make sense to me but the point isn't that it make sense but that things happen that we can't explain and that change our lives forever. So, I liked it. It's a short read and not the type of book I usually read but I'm glad I read it.  My next book I think will be "Eat, Pray, Love" by Elizabeth Gilbert.  I saw the book when it first came out but passed it by. I went to see the movie with my daughter a couple of months ago and adored it. I developed a crush immediately on the man she fell in love with in Bali and the movie was beautiful. Of course, who doesn't love Julia Roberts? I decided to read the book and bought it but only got a couple of chapters in before school took all my time again. So, I will start over and hope the movie didn't spoil it for me. I doubt it will. I have stacks of books that I buy and then don't have time to read so when I do have time, I try to read as much as I can. I also buy cookbooks, craft supplies and fabric and don't have time to cook, craft or sew so you can see there is a definite pattern going on here. I hear a book calling my name right now so excuse me while I go find a comfy spot and lose myself in someone else's life for a little while.
