Saturday afternoon

We have been looking for a house for about a year now.  It's been frustrating and at times I thought we would never find one. I found some I liked but there was always something. Either there was already an offer or something was wrong with it or it was in the wrong neighborhood, always something. Then we found one and it was perfect or at least as perfect as it was going to get given our particular parameters.  Actually, when we went to look at it I didn't want to get excited about it because I really really liked it and didn't want to be disappointed. Then when we made an offer there was all kinds of ups and downs and at one point they even said they had meant to take another offer and took ours by mistake. But as of last Tuesday it is ours. Papers are signed, money has been paid and we can move in just as soon as it's cleaned and painted. Sigh of relief.

I had the baby on Saturday while his mom was at work so we walked over to see the progress on the house. This is the view from the master bedroom deck. There is a pomegranate tree and a lemon tree and a few other trees I can't tell what they are yet. There's a lot of things coming up that could be tulips but I don't know yet.

This is the view from the master bath into the bedroom. That medicine cabinet is going and the whole thing actually will be redone but for now it will be painted and cleaned up until we get to it. It has a nice jetted tub and it's large so it's great.

This is the kitchen obviously. As you can see, it is green and yellow right now but that is changing fast. We plan on getting new stuff like counters and appliances but for now, yes paint and cleaning will do just fine.

This is the view from the living room into the dining area.  It looks smaller than it is and rather dark and dingy but that will change.

This is the baby's room. That lovely pheasant wallpaper border is hard to get off but the striped wallpaper is impossible so we decided to cover it with texture and call it good. Really, I  don't know what they used but it was taking the sheetrock off with it so there wasn't much choice but it will look fine.

This is the master. It is good sized and there's the door to the deck on the right. Wood floors. I love it.

Not the best photo but this tree has pink blossoms on it and it is gorgeous.  It was a cloudy day so that's my excuse for the lack of color in the photo. It is really pretty though. And it is in our yard!

Here's the baby checking out the new yard.  He found a ball and wouldn't let in go. He also found a stick he brought home.

Here is my little princess. This was taken at her house and has nothing to do with our new house but she looks so adorable in this photo I had to include it.  Well, in this photo she is a ballerina. She put the outfit together herself and she is very proud of it.  Look at that face! Oh she is something-smart, funny and very creative.  She called me the other day. She told her mom she wanted to talk to her grandma so she did for about half an hour.  Then she called again a couple of days later.  She is amazing.

There will be more house photos coming and I will catch you up on what's going on at school. It has been crazy to say the least and I so look forward to Spring Break.  Time now for me to go to sleep.

Sweet dreams

  1. Your house is going to be beautiful. I love the tree with the pink blossoms. Lisa says it looks very nice. I wish I was there to help and share the space, if only for a little while. I have to remember to get your address next time we talk.
