It Could be Worse...
Last week we had the daycare crisis. This week? Well... My daughter and I were having a good day at school; we had a meeting we both attended and classes and it was all going nicely. I had gone home for the day and she was going to pick up our little guy after her last class. We were all set to get into our routine after last week's craziness. She called me on her way home which was unusual for her since she usually texts me and said, "the baby has pink eye". My ears would not register what they heard. My brain said "no more, we don't need any more problems" but they come anyway. So, she took him to the doctor, got his medication and arrived home late with a surprisingly uncranky baby. We got him fed and ready for bed and then we had to put the medication in his eyes. That was a treat. I held him and she put it in and he threw a fit!! He was better this morning but of course he couldn't go to the sitter, so we got that worked out and he should be going back tomorrow. In the meantime, we have to disinfect everything he touches, wash our hands constantly and try to remember not to touch our eyes.
I had an anthropology quiz today and as a bonus question my professor asked what the significance of 1480 was. He gave the hint that it wasn't a date. After he collected the quizzes, he gave us the answer. He said if you add up the number of his toes and fingers and multiply them by his age, you'd get 1480. How in the hee haw were we supposed to figure that out? He is a nut for sure and I can't even imagine what this semester in his class is going to be like. Did I mention he wears shorts and red socks every single day?
On the plus side, it was warm and beautiful today.

You are all really lucky none of you got pink eye as you know how contagious it is. How is he doing now? Sorry I missed your call, but with school and all, I never know when to call, so I'm waiting............. I'm going to try the pad thai recipe soon. It sounds yummy. Talk to you soon. love you mom
ReplyDeleteHe's fine now. We medicated him and that was torture for him and us. We were really careful about washing our hands and I disinfected everything. Let me know how the pad thai comes out. I think you will enjoy it!
