First Day of School

                                           This is my  little school.

This is the building where I spend most of my time.
Same building but you can see the stage, the rose garden and of course the palm trees. It really is a lovely little campus and I am quite fond of it.  This is my fourth and last semester here and I know that I will miss the small town atmosphere, the slower pace and of course the friends I have made here. But I don't have time to miss it yet, I still have to finish this semester and sitting through the first three classes today I can tell it isn't going to be an easy one.  Not to mention the two classes tomorrow. Research methods is going to be a ton of work and the other two I had today require hours of reading.  My Anthropology teacher is a funny man who wears shorts and red socks.  We haven't had a lecture yet so I am anxious to see how he teaches.  Tomorrow is Statistics which a friend of mine just spent the last half hour telling me about so I don't have a real good feeling about it.  Plus......
We are going through a babysitting crisis right now.  My grandson's sitter has the flu as does her own son.  She has a back up sitter just for situations like this and of course, the back up sitter has the same flu. So we scrambled around today to get him taken care of because since this is the first day of school neither of us could miss it.  His mother was very anxious and worried about it but we got today and Thursday worked out and finally got tomorrow taken care of so we are still working on Friday but I know it will work out.  His other grandmother is watching him tomorrow which is very nice of her.  My older daughter volunteered to take him until Thursday ( she is working Friday), she is such a sweetheart. She has her own family and a demanding job plus she's been down with a cold but she was willing to step up and help out. I couldn't help but be proud of her. I love my family.
Off to bed I go....

  1. I just read your blog and looked at the pictures and it made me soooo homesick. The grass is so green and our ground is so white. Anyway, it looks like you have your work cut out for you in the classroom. I'm glad you guys worked out your childcare problems. I could have helped if only-----oh well, I'm stuck here for the duration. Talk to you soon. mom
