The Birthday Girl Part II
When I last left you, we had just beat the poor pinata to death. Now we are at the gift opening ceremony, the real reason we have birthdays. For the loot, the goods, the pretty wrappings and bows. Ahh... I can't wait for my birthday. Oh sorry. Anyway, here she is opening her pretty pink and sometimes lavender wrapped gifts.
This one I believe is from great-grandma. A princess doll to add to her collection because in case you didn't know, she is a princess.
And here she is opening her gifts. Pink of course, with princesses on it.
And they keep on coming.
And coming.
Well, you get the idea.
It's a pink explosion.
She did get some cool things. A walking, barking doggie. Clothes. Lots of clothes, a doll, a doll carriage, a talking book, Curious George puzzle among other things.
Like this cool aquarium. When she comes to visit grandma, she always feeds the fish for me at dinner time. She knows the routine and reminds me when the time gets close. She feeds them then watches them eat and talks to them. She really enjoys the fish so her dad decided she should have her own fish. She will really enjoy watching them and feeding them. Luckily for her, she won't have the job of cleaning the tank. It isn't pretty, believe me. It's a pain and I too am lucky, I don't have to do it either.
Having some cake after a hard day of birthday celebration.
This cake was so delicious. My daughter got it at her favorite bakery in San Francisco and they really do make some good cake. Fresh fruit on top and the birthday card on top is white chocolate. Oh, and there is the Little Mermaid. The theme of this year's festivities. Back to cake. Strawberry filling with fresh strawberries and whipped cream between moist layers of cake and smooth not too sweet icing. Ooh, I can taste it now.
Here she is with "Hayla" as she calls the cat whose name is actually "Haley". She loves our cats and "Hayla" will usually tolerate her but the other cat hides under the bed if she hears anyone but us in the house. She is skittish to say the least. I wish I would have taken a good shot of the dress. She looked so cute--matching dress, shoes and sweater. And hair ribbons--oh and she had a crown too!
But guess who decided he should wear it!
I have to write an essay and get a quiz done online so I must go. I just wanted to get these photos out before it turned into her next birthday. till next time...
late bloomer
It looks like the kids had a really good time. Even though your house wasn't finished, it was alot easier than having it in the apt. wasn't it? I wish I was there, but the pictures will have to do, and I really enjoy seeing how much my two little great grandchildren are growing and how beautiful they are. Send me some pictures of your house when it's "done". It's going to be really really nice.
